University Of Jos ICT Directorate Call On Students To Activate Their Student's Email

The Information And Communication Technology Directorate Of University Of Jos has called in students to activate their student's email for easy payment of fees and other payment. Previously Remita was used as the payment mode, but this session took a new turn as students are advised not to pay through Remita website.

In a statement, This is to advice all students to activate their University of Jos students’ email immediately. The email is their identity for login to the Students’ Portal for payment of school charges, course registration, accommodation allocation and payment, Learning Management System for GST and other CBT exams, etc.


To activate your email, follow the step by step guide highlighted below.

1. Visit

2. After that, Click on PORTAL

3. Then, Click on E-mail

4. Type your email - the format for your Unijos email is your matriculation number without ‘UJ’ and the ‘/’ appended to example If your Mat number is UJ/2014/EN/6789, the email will be

5. Click on NEXT

6. Enter Unijos123 as the default password

7. Click on the Sign in button

Note: You will be required to change the default password to your preferred password. Acceptable password should be at least 8 characters long including at least an UPPERCASE, lowercase letter and a Number

8. Type the current password – Unijos123

9. Type new password

10. Retype the new password

You will be prompted for more information required (eg name, phone number)

11. Click Next

12. Click Verify at the end of Authentication Phone number, set the phone number displayed to your number

13. Select Nigeria from list of Countries in the drop down

14. If the phone number displayed is your current number, click Text Me otherwise enter your current number before clicking the Text Me.

An Authentication code will be sent to the phone number via SMS

15. Enter the code and click Verify.

16. Click Next

17. Your account is now ACTIVE. You can now use it to make payments

Note: You may download and install Microsoft Outlook from Play Store on your Android device and use it for all subsequent sign in
